Here is the link to the table saw: www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-trade-series-aw10bsb2-saw-bench-230v-501196 I couldn’t be happier with the saw. It’s a great piece of kit and will definitely serve me well. I have used it in anger for around a week now and cut various timber like a knife through butter. For ...

How to make a simple Toy Box / Part 1

Here is how I made a simple wooden Toy Box thats going to be used for my dogs toys. This could be used anywhere though, to hold pretty much anything that fits in it - i made this to sizes that suit me but you could make this any size. Apologies for the messy workshop, I'm currently awaiting a new table saw so getting everything moved but still wanting to make things. In Part 2 i'll be adding a ...

What i don't show in the video is I made a few mistakes with this and had to cut some of the box out to allow room for my bandsaw blade. I repaired this by using some glue and sawdust. I used a compound mitre saw for cutting the frame and a table saw to cut the plywood

Mate - I don't know if you are using a face mask but please, you really need to look at using the overguard dust extraction, especially as you are cutting MDF - the dust coming off the table looks look horrendous. MDF dust is not good for your lungs

I found this was the best angle to use, I had also read and seen others that said to use this angle.

A SpeedSquare to check for 90? I found that to be woefully off. They are cast, not milled. I went thru the same design process as you. I ended up taking a piece of UniStrut as a straight edge for my rail, attached it to my rail guide, which I had to drop down another 2 inches to accommodate the fence guide, which I divided into two parts: the "T" which floats and can be shimmed for square, and the fence itself. This solved three problems, the fence adjustment problems of redrilling every time you need to square, the wear and square problems of the rail, which is now fully adjustable too; and the eventual warping of the rail or deformation of the rail as you use parts of it more than others.

Dude, I was really appreciating the video. Watched the whole thing. Then started scratching my head when you went with the t-track option. I thought that will pull the cleat the wrong way? Then you obviously realised that, and in the last TWO SECONDS, somehow fixed that with a different clamp - and didn't explain that at all! That's the key to the whole job, and you skipped over it? So frustrating. Would love to see detail of the final solution?

A vertical clamp (Powertech off Amazon) mounted directly above the flat surface of the rail, will pull the fence back into the guide cleat... his original design pulled the fence into the deck, not really pulling it all the way into the cleat, and further inhibited the sliding action of the fence itself. It was like having two competing guides, and if they are both not perfectly aligned then they will not slide well... something harder to make than just screwing in a few cut pieces of pine together...

Dan Martin it’s absolutely amazing, I do wish that they had the same technology for the flesh detection that saw stop have but as they don’t supply to the uk this is by far in my opinion the best available in the UK
